    Phillip Graves is a versatile and gifted multi-instrumentalist, music director, producer, composer, arranger, DJ, vocalist, and actor from St. Louis, MO. He is a proud graduate of Central Visual and Performing Arts High School and attains a Bachelors of Music degree in Jazz Studies with an emphasis in Music Technology from Webster University. After college, Phillip took on his music career at full force performing and touring with many local, national, and international artists. Some of the artists include Grammy Award Winning artists Howard Hewett, Marvin and Bebe Winans, Shirley Caesar, The Clark Sisters, Margaret Bell, Grammy nominated artists N’Dambi, Eric Roberson, Anthony David, Vivian Greene, Phil Perry, Lynne Fiddmont, Angela Winbush, Antonique Smith, Althea Rene, Elan Troutman, Brian Owens, Andre Delano, Russell Gunn, Julie Dexter, Aska Kaneko, Farshid Etniko, Theo Peoples, Anita Jackson, Denise Thimes, Charles Glenn, Bosman Twins, StikYard, and Tim Cunningham. 

    Currently, Phillip is the CEO of his excelling music production company, Phillip Graves Entertainment, LLC. where it stands by its motto, “Feel good music for every occasion.” He is the Director of Music at The New Church under the leadership of Pastor Anthony S. McCaa, Sr. and at Equation Church, under the leadership of Bishop Antwain Jackson in St. Louis, MO. He’s also the Music Director for Theo Peoples, Anita Jackson, and several other local artists. Along with music directing, Phillip performs on both keyboard, drums, DJ, and sound engineering at several venues and festivals throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Some of Phillip’s keyboard work can be heard on bassist, Jahmal Nichols album “2 Worlds, 1 Mind” (January 2014), drummer Montez Coleman album “New Beginnings” (September 2016),  Soul Understated album “Songs in the Key of Grease” (May 2017), stage play “Between Worlds” (2017) written by Cecilia Nadal of Gitana Productions, Inc., bassist/vocalist Eugene Johnson's album "Play One More" (2017), just to name a few. Also some of Phillip’s keyboard, writing, and production credits can be heard on The Sound of St. Louis Jazz Compilation Vol. 1 (Your Time / March 2019), Danita Mumphard’s album “Love’s Taken Over” (Sincerely Yours; Something About Your Love/ February 2015). He was a featured organist in Tina and Teddy Campbell’s music video, “Speak the Word” (February 2016). In addition to performing and recording, Phillip taught music education at City Garden Montessori School (St. Louis, MO), Kingdom House School (St. Louis, MO), and currently teaches private piano and drum lessons.

Recently, Phillip landed his first major lead acting role portraying one of music’s iconic figures, Thelonious Monk in A Call to Conscience Interactive Theater for Social Change (St. Louis, MO) stage production of, “Next to Normal: The Thelonious Monk Story.” Written by Mariah L. Richardson and Directed by Fannie Belle Lebby (June 2019).
